Rippled Rockpool 1

About

Thea Kennedy is an emotional abstract painter whose work translates human feeling into colour and texture. Her paintings explore the quiet yet powerful spaces where emotion and art meet, balancing instinct with precision to create pieces that resonate deeply with the viewer.

Rooted in both art and design, Thea brings a unique sensibility to her work. With a foundation in electronics and a parallel career in furniture and design, she has developed a meticulous understanding of form, materials and structure. Since returning to Ireland from the United States in 2020, a period of personal loss has guided her move from representational art to full-time abstraction – a shift driven by a search for authenticity and emotional truth.

Collectability

My practice is intentionally slow and process-led, with only 25–30 works released each year. Every painting is made with archival materials and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity to ensure provenance. My coherent series approach and considered release schedule sustain placement quality and long-term collector confidence.
